TECH PACK TECHNICIAN (ON SITE - FULL TIME)

We are looking for a skilled Tech Pack Technician to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the successful transition from design to finished product by creating detailed documents that guide the manufacturing process and keep all aspects aligned.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Creating and Managing Tech Packs:

  • Develop tech packs based on designs provided by the design team.

  • Include detailed technical drawings, measurements, fabric specifications, colorways, trims, labels, and any other necessary information for production.

  • Ensure tech packs are complete, accurate, and up-to-date for factory production.

 

2. Collaboration with Design and Production Teams:

  • Work closely with the design team to understand the garment concept and translate it into a technical format.

  • Collaborate with sourcing and production teams to ensure the materials and methods align with production capabilities.

 

3. Specification Management:

  • Ensure the tech pack includes all product specifications, such as size charts, construction details, garment dimensions, and stitching guidelines.

  • Regularly update the tech pack to reflect any changes or revisions in the design or manufacturing process.

 

4. Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Ensure that the garment meets the required quality standards and adheres to legal and industry regulations.

  • Ensure that all materials, dyes, and finishes specified in the tech pack meet safety standards

 

5. Costing and Sourcing:

  • Work with the sourcing team to estimate the cost of materials and production.

  • Help identify cost-effective options without compromising quality.

 

6. Product Development Support:

  • Assist with product sampling, making sure that the tech pack is followed precisely during the sampling stage.

  • Communicate any issues or discrepancies to the design team for resolution.

 

7. Technical Issue Resolution:

  • Address any production issues that arise during the manufacturing process, ensuring that they align with the design intent.

 

8. Data Organization:

  • Maintain organized records of tech packs, ensuring they are easily accessible for future reference or updates.

Skills Required:

  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and fabric properties.

  • CAD (Computer-Aided Design) Proficiency: Familiarity with design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, or specialized garment design software) for creating technical drawings.

  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in documenting all garment specifications.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate with designers, suppliers, and production teams.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot production issues and provide timely solutions.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with garment manufacturing processes, fabric sourcing, and industry standards.

  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and work within deadlines.

 

Key Tools/Software:

  • Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop – For creating detailed garment tech sketches.

  • Excel/Google Sheets – To track measurements, material lists, and costing data.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience in the garment industry (2-5 years).

  • Strong knowledge of garment construction and the technical aspects of production.

  • Bilingual (French & English).
